Read on location
The beauty of reading is that you can do it anywhere, any time!
The landscape or world of your storybooks can serve as inspiration for different locations to read together. Read a book about nature while sitting under a tree, read about the ocean by the beach or read about dinosaurs at the museum! This will help to give stories context and allows your little one to use real life to fuel their budding imagination. You can make a game of it by encouraging your child to find elements of their favourite stories in the world around them!
Having special places to read stories together, even if it is just a cosy corner in your home, develops and strengthens your bond with your child and helps them associate the place, and reading itself, with positive relationships, interactions, and experiences.
